We are an award-winning design company that believes the design is as important to our team as it is to our clients. We are in the unique position of being able to design the physical site, structure, and interior of a project. Since we hire our own employees who have been with us for almost two decades, we can control cost, quality, and time, which are the most important elements in building any project.
Island Design Build Corp has been in business since 1989.
Scott Michael Accardo, designer, builder, and owner, was born in Selden, New York. He received a degree in Interior Design at the New York School of Interior Design, leaving as valedictorian of his class. He has been married to his wife Silvia, the company's CEO, for over thirty years and they have four children, Joshua, Aaron, Mark, and Raquel.
He began his business at the age of twenty-two; Scott had a strong passion for building other people's dreams. After building homes with his father and working for 3 and a half years with an architectural firm, he resigned as head project designer and began his own company. It began as a design firm, but Scott realized the need for qualified, professional contractors; since he has been on construction sites since he could remember, he decided to start building the projects he was designing.
After several years of building, Scott realized the next issue to overcome was quality control and scheduling issues with subcontractors. Therefore, he hired his employees and has since built an incredibly talented staff. Many employees have been with us for over fifteen years, guaranteeing the same quality finish on every job. We employ our own framers, trimmers, painters, masons, and machine operators.
Scott has a unique advantage as a designer and builder because he can design and create with his clients throughout the entirety of the project. Unlike most architects, he can redesign and rework projects until they perfectly match the client's needs as well as functionality. He has an eye for design and has an ongoing list of satisfied customers. Many of his clients are ones that he has maintained for over fifteen years and is currently working with on new projects!
